As of the start of the new year several school districts throughout Alabama were reimplementing mask mandates.

Last Wednesday, nearly 1,340 people statewide were hospitalized with COVID-19, nearly five times as many as less than a month ago but still far below the state’s all-time pandemic high of 3,355 in early September.
