In the wise words of Barbie herself, “You can be anything” — including basing your next Halloween costume around her girly and bright aesthetic! The doll’s fashion pieces have become a hot trend — playfully coined as Barbiecore — in recent months among young adults and celebrities, thanks to the recent surge in popularity of behind the scenes snippets from Greta Gerwig’s upcoming live-action Barbie film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Megan Fox is one of the most recent celebs to join the Barbiecore craze. In June, the actress shared photos on Instagram with her partner Machine Gun Kelly, spotted wearing two different Barbie-inspired outfits: a tight-fitting, millennial pink mini dress, and a two-piece ensemble consisting of a hot pink crop top and a low-rise matching pink skirt.

Though not yet released, Gerwig’s Barbie film provides additional inspiration for Barbiecore costumes, as some images from Barbie’s (Margot Robbie) and Ken’s (Ryan Gosling) wardrobes from the movie’s production have been spotted by paparazzi.

Barbie and Ken are seen skating down Venice Beach in one scene, the pair dressed in matching workout outfits that are reminiscent of the 1980s workout loungewear craze. The patterns on the duo’s workout gear are squiggles with a clash of contrasting bright colors, echoing both decades' fascination with bright neon yellow, pink, and blue colors. Although not exactly as depicted in the film, there are some fairly accurate 1980s Jazzercise costumes that fit the Barbie brand available from various Halloween specialty websites.

Barbie is shown in another scene wearing a hyper-feminine cowgirl outfit. Her outfit consists of a hot pink V-shape top and hot pink bell bottom pants with stars cascading down the hem of the pants and a white cowboy hat to top the outfit!
