The first thing to keep in mind is that the sooner we act, the better the stains can be cleaned. Always have a clothing label with washing instructions handy. The cleaning tactics that we will talk about may not be applicable for some sensitive clothes. Also, if our clothes are stained, we recommend that you do not use the dryer as the stains may be permanent. Against the red wine stain, the accumulated liquid should be wiped first. With a clean, dry cloth or paper towel, press the area where the red wine was spilled. Instead of rubbing, you should press; because rubbing with a cloth can cause the stain to spread.

Talc is a very effective tool for absorbing excess fluid. After wiping up as much of the spilled wine as possible, cover the stain completely with talc powder. Wait a few hours and allow the dust to clean the stain. After a few hours, shake off the excess talc and wash the garment in the washing machine.

Like talc, salt absorbs red wine. As with talcum powder, you should completely cover the stain with table salt and pour a few drops of lemon juice on top of the salt. To allow the red wine to be absorbed by the salt, you must wait a few hours. Finally, clean the salt and put the clothes in the washing machine.

Another liquid that we can use to remove wine stains is mineral water. Due to its components, it penetrates the fabric very well. It helps to separate the color of wine and clothing. Pour the mineral water directly onto the clothing and rub gently until the wine is removed. Finally, wash as normal in the washing machine to completely remove any remaining residue from the clothing.

It may be hard to believe, but the simplest and most direct way to remove red wine stains is to use white wine. Because of the wine’s components, if we pour white wine over red wine, we will find that the wine stain on the clothing will come off, or if the stain is dry, it helps to soften the stain. After removing the color, wash the garment in the washing machine as usual.

Milk is a powerful stain remover. It serves to remove wine, ink and some other stains. Take a clean cloth, moisten it with milk and gently rub over the stain. Take care so that the stain does not spread to other areas of the garment. When you have cleaned and softened all the stains, wash the clothes in the washing machine as usual.

Lemon is also a great stain remover on its own. Against the red wine stain, we can squeeze the juice of the lemon and pour it on the stain. You should wait for the lemon juice to soften the stain and you can rub the stain with a toothbrush or similar tool. You will see that the stain is slowly coming out. After this process, wash the garment in the washing machine.

We do not recommend using this mixture on delicate clothing; because due to its content, it can weaken some fabrics. Add 5 glasses of (average) cold water, 1 glass of oxygenated water and 4 glasses of ammonia into a bucket. Soak the clothing in this mixture and wait a few minutes for it to soften (until you see the stain softening). Finally, drain the supplemental liquid and put it in the washing machine.
